End of 2nd Six Weeks- Assignments Due

The end of the second six weeks is rapidly approaching, and it is VERY important that you turn in all assignments to avoid incomplete or failing grades.

The following assignments are due by Friday:

1- Sketchbook (TEST GRADE)
    a.  Art Criticism steps (if you missed these, see Steps in Art Criticism)
    b.  Artist Page- over Ansel Adams or Georgia O'Keefe (must include artist name, 5 biographical              facts, historical significance of artist, titles of 3 works, and an illustration of the artist or one of            their works, as well as list the websites where you found your information. )
    c.  An eye
    d. A wild animal in your house
    e. The Things you want to do today

2-  Major Project (TEST GRADE)
     Art I- Surrealism Watercolor painting
     Art II- Idiom drawing
     Art III and IV- Project of your choice

3-  Tell-Tale Heart Illustration (in Sketchbook, Daily Grade)

4- Outline for Midterm Project; over the American artist of your choosing (can be a musician,                  costume designer, painter, sculptor, makeup artist, fashion designer, architect, animator, etc.)

We will also be completing two additional daily assignments this week in class- please make sure you are caught up!

Color Wheel


Color Wheel Explanation
The Primary Colors: Blue, Red, Yellow
The Secondary Colors: Violet, Orange, Green 
     -made up of two primary colors
The Tertiary Colors: Blue-Violet, Red-Violet, Red-Orange, Yellow-Orange, Yellow-Green, Blue-Green
     -made up of primary colors in a 2:1 ratio

Other Notes About Color
The complementary colors are blue-orange, red-green, and yellow-violet.  Mixing complementary colors results in a sort of muddy-brown.
Warm colors are red, yellow, orange.
Cool colors are blue, green, purple.

Value
Value is the range of a color.  Adding black makes a shade, adding white makes a tint.

Space
Positive space is figure.  Negative space is ground.
