Color Wheel

Color Wheel Explanation

The Primary Colors: Blue, Red, Yellow

The Secondary Colors: Violet, Orange, Green 

     -made up of two primary colors

The Tertiary Colors: Blue-Violet, Red-Violet, Red-Orange, Yellow-Orange, Yellow-Green, Blue-Green

     -made up of primary colors in a 2:1 ratio

Other Notes About Color

The complementary colors are blue-orange, red-green, and yellow-violet.  Mixing complementary colors results in a sort of muddy-brown.

Warm colors are red, yellow, orange.

Cool colors are blue, green, purple.

Value

Value is the range of a color.  Adding black makes a shade, adding white makes a tint.

Space

Positive space is figure.  Negative space is ground.

I am so excited to get the year started!  Below, you will find some helpful information as we start the school year (Class Syllabus, Welcome Letter).  If you did not receive these items at Open House or if you need another copy, feel free to print the attached document for all the information that you need!
